The Accounting Coordinator, working under the supervision of the Senior Accounting Manager, is responsible for a variety of accounting activities for a portfolio of Virtual's clients as assigned.  Activities include, but are not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipt handling, and data entry. In addition, the Accounting Coordinator is responsible for working with senior leadership, managers, supervisors and cross-functional teams to maintain and verify systems information for Virtual.


  • Accounts Payable activities including entering bills and refunds.
  • Processing credit cards for multiple clients.
  • Receiving checks into financial software, scanning checks for deposit, mailing if needed.
  • Accessing online payment gateways and merchant accounts.
  • Handling deposits and refunds and communicating payment details to membership colleagues.
  • Handling foreign currency conversions, creating customer invoices, responding to customer/member requests for payment receipts and change requests.
  • Assistance with client year end audits as required.
  • Working with various financial software tools.
  • Working with client online registration systems.
  • Assists in training of accounting interns.
  • Assists with creation of reports as needed for clients and the Accounting team.
  • Assists with collection activities.



  • The ideal candidate will either possess a bachelor's degree or be finishing a bachelors in a related field, and have minimum of 1 year of experience dealing with Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable, preferably both (internships and temp positions count toward requisite);
  • Detail oriented with an ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment while managing multiple priorities;
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative attitude;
  • Customer service experience with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Experience with MS Excel;
  • Experience with QuickBooks (preferred);
  • Must keep confidentiality of sensitive client data;
  • Ability to commute to Virtual's office in Wakefield, MA
