US: In need of a Technical Project Manager to lead client web platform initiatives and other technical projects successfully while creating and implementing systems to do it better.

 

SUMMARY:

Our professional services company is hiring a Technical Project Manager to oversee the conception, implementation and analysis in relation to Technical Project Management systems for a specific client of Virtual, Inc. The successful candidate will have a background in both business and IT and will have an extensive understanding of software development and ability to contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery. We're looking for a responsible, articulate, motivated and fun Technical Project Manager who can quickly identify vulnerabilities and obstacles, and then create innovative solutions.

A DAY IN THE LIFE WILL INCLUDE:

  • Lead assigned projects to completion
  • Develop individual project plans complete with dependencies as well as human and technology resource needs
  • Communicate with our client and technology teams about resource allocation
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as needed
  • Communicate project objectives to all team members and stakeholders
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology teams
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
  • Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus and achieve objectives
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands
  • Research best practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data and use continuous process improvement disciplines to achieve results
  • Build systems and processes to capture and report on project scope, priority, impact, categories, and resource allocation.
  • Set and manage expectations of internal and client stakeholders.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

  • Bachelor's degree in computer- or business-related discipline or equivalent experience required
  • PMP certification a plus
  • Jira experience a plus
  • 7-10+ years' experience in software development or delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to complete projects on time and within the stated budget
  • Excellent communication, organization, time-management and leadership skills
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Wrike, Smartsheet, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint with experience presenting to stakeholders and Senior Leadership  
  • Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs
  • Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas in order to achieve a common business objective
  • Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment
  • Demonstrated decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and clarifying priorities
